Specificity: Anti-GST antibody recognizes the N-terminal or C-terminal GST-tagged fusion protein.
Cited Applications: WB
Cross Reactivity: All proteins tagged with GST
Host / Isotype / Clone#: Mouse, IgG2a, G2R
Immunogen: Purified GST
Formulation: 10mM PBS, pH 7.2
Purification: Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from mouse ascites fluid
Stability: Store at 4°C (add 0.1% NaN
3) for several months, and at -20°C for longer periods.
For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Scientific Background: GST or glutathione S-transferase family of enzymes comprises a long list of cytosolic, mitochondrial, and microsomal proteins that are used to create the so-called 'GST gene fusion system' (1). These proteins are capable of multiple reactions with a multitude of substrates. GST tag has the size of 220 amino acids, which is relatively big compared to other tags like the Myc- or the DYKDDDDK-tag that are quite small. GST can be used to purify and detect proteins of interest.
