Storage, Stability, and Shipping: Store product at –70
oC. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Applications: Kinase Assay, Western Blot
Molecular Weight: ~105 kDa
Gene Aliases : PRKCB1; PKCB2; PRKCB1; PRKCB (X07109)
Scientific Background: PKCβ II is a member of the protein kinase C (PKC) family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and second messenger diacylglycerol and phosphorylate a wide variety of protein targets known to be involved in diverse cellular signaling pathways (1). PKCβ II has been reported to be involved in many different cellular functions such as B cell activation, apoptosis induction, endothelial cell proliferation, and intestinal sugar absorption (2).
