Specificity: Anti-RSK1 antibody recognizes the RSK1 protein.
Cited Applications: WB
Cross Reactivity: RSK1 from Human, Mouse, Rat
RSK1 from other species may also be detectable.
Host: Rabbit
Immunogen: C-LAQRRVRKLPSTTL peptide KLH conjugates
Formulation: TBS at pH 7.2, 50% glycerol
Purification: Affinity purified by peptide C-LAQRRVRKLPSTTL on agarose from rabbit serum
Stability: Store at 4°C (add 0.1% NaN
3) for several months, and at -20°C for longer periods.
For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Scientific Background: RSK1 is a member of the RSK (ribosomal S6 kinase) family that are growth factor-regulated serine/threonine kinases. RSK1 contains 2 nonidentical kinase catalytic domains and phosphorylates various substrates, including members of the mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. RSK1 encodes a predicted 735-amino acid protein containing 2 distinct consensus ATP-binding site sequences. RSK1 transcript is present in lymphocytes, skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissue (1). RSKs are implicated in the activation of the mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) cascade and the stimulation of cell proliferation and differentiation (2).
