Formulation: Recombinant protein stored in 1 X PBS, 10% glycerol.
Storage, Stability, and Shipping: Stored at desiccated below -20
oC. It is stable at 4
oC between 2-7 days. For long term storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Applications: Cell Assay
Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.1 ng/µg (IEU/µg) of BMP-2.
Molecular Weight: ~13.8 kDa
Gene Aliases: BMP2A
Scientific Background: BMP-2 is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein family that is part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. BMP-2 acts as a disulfide-linked homodimer that induces bone and cartilage formation. BMP2 modulates fibroblast-like synoviocyte cell populations in inflamed synovium (1). BMP2 plays a role in human T-cell differentiation and involve in the long bone formation (2).
