Formulation: Recombinant protein stored in 1 X PBS, 10% glycerol.
Storage, Stability, and Shipping: Stored at desiccated below -20
oC. It is stable at 4
oC between 2-7 days. For long term storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Applications: Cell Assay
Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.1 ng/µg (IEU/µg) of IL-2.
Molecular Weight: ~14.5 kDa
Gene Aliases: TCGF; lymphokine; IL2
Scientific Background: IL-2 or interleukin 2 is a secreted cytokine which referred to as T-cell growth factor, that is a powerfully immunoregulatory lymphokine that is produced by lectin- or antigen-activated T cells. IL2 can act as a growth hormone that is important for the proliferation of T and B-lymphocytes (1). IL2 expression is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene (2).
