Overview:
Cdc27 (a.k.a. cell division cycle protein 27, CDC27Hs and H-NUC) is a component of anaphase-promoting complex (APC), which is composed of eight protein subunits. APC catalyzes the formation of cyclin B-ubiquitin conjugate that controls the ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis of B-type cyclins. Cdc27 contains a TPR (tetratricopeptide repeat) domain, which facilitates protein-protein interactions. This protein interacts with mitotic checkpoint proteins including Mad2, p55CDC and BUBR1, pointing to a role in mitotic timing.
