Overview:

CREB1 is a member of the cAMP responsive element binding protein family of transcription factors that are critical mediators of gene expression in response to extracellular signals and are essential regulators of adaptive behavior and long-term memory formation (1). Activation of CREB1 by protein kinase A-mediated phosphorylation has been implicated in the survival of mammalian cells. Mice lacking CREB in the central nervous system during development show extensive apoptosis of postmitotic neurons (2). CREB binds as homo- and heterodimers to promoters containing CRE and activator protein 1 (AP-1) sites to alter target-gene expression).

Specificity:

Recognizes the CREB protein

Cross Reactivity:

Western blot and immunoprecipitation of human and mouse CREB

CREB from other species may also be detectable.

Host:

Rabbit

Immunogen:

Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 699-703 of human STAT1

Purification:

Affinity chromatography

Stability:

Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data:

Representative immunoprecipitation with 2 μg of Anti-CREB using 500 ug of HeLa, HEK-293T, Jurkat, and 3T6 cell lysate.

Sample Data:

Representative western blot with Anti-CREB (1:1000) using 30 ug of HeLa, HEK-293T, Jurkat, THP1, and 3T6 cell lysate.
