Overview:
Found in the gastrointestinal tract, the three Trefoil proteins, TFF1, 2, and 3 have been shown to play an important role in intestinal mucosal defence and repair. In addition to being expressed by goblet cells and in the uterus, TFF3 has also been shown to express in certain cancers providing a potential use as a molecular marker for those cancers.
Gene Aliases:
Intestinal trefoil factor, ITF, Polypeptide P1.B, hP1.B
Recombinant Human Trefoil Factor 3 (TFF3)
Genbank Number:
Storage, Stability and Shipping:
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70oC. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2o - 8oC for one month, or at -20oC for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Endotoxin Level:
<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Molecular Weight:
6.8 kDa
Reconstitution Protocol:
Reconstitute at 100 μg/mL in sterile PBS
Sample Cell Assay Data:
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human MCF-7 cells using a concentration range of 1.0-10.0 μg/ml
Purity:
Recombinant Human TFF3 resolved on a 17% SDS_PAGE gel under reducing conditions and stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250
