Overview:

CCL23 (MPIF-1, CK8, SCYA23), a member of the CC chemokine family, was originally isolated from a human aortic endothelial cell library and from the human monocytic cell line THP-1. It is most closely related to MIP-1 and interacts with its receptor CCR1, which is expressed on monocytes, dendritic cells, lymphocytes, and endothelial cells. Functionally, CCL23 has chemotactic activity for monocytes, DC, lymphocytes, neutrophils, osteoclast precursor cells, and endothelial cells. In contrast, CCL23 reduces the proliferation of progenitor cells giving rise to granulocyte and monocyte lineages, whereas it enhances angiogenesis of endothelial cells.

Gene Aliases:

CK-beta-8, CKB-8, MIP3, Myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor 1, MPIF-1, Small-inducible cytokine A23, MIP3, MPIF1, SCYA23, CCL23, C-C motif chemokine 23, Recombinant Human Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-3 (CCL23)

Genbank Number:

Storage, Stability and Shipping:

The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70oC. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2o - 8oC for one month, or at -20oC for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Endotoxin Level:

<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.

Molecular Weight:

11.0 kDa

Reconstitution Protocol:

A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

Sample Cell Assay Data:

Determined by its ability to chemoattract human T cells using a concentration range of 2-40 ng/mL.

Purity:

Recombinant Human MIP-3 (CCL23) resolved on a 17% SDS-PAGE gel under reducing conditions and stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250
