Scientific background:
Induces differentiated myogenic-lineage-committed cells to become multipotent mesenchymal progenitor cells (1, 2). Acts as a selective human A3 adenosine receptor antagonist (Ki=0.66 µM) (3). Cell permeable. Reversine is also a known ATP-competitive Aurora kinase inhibitor with nanomolar IC50s for Aurora A, Aurora B and Aurora C, as well as a monopolar spindle 1 (Mps1) kinase inhibitor and mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) inhibitor.
