Overview:

Protein kinase C delta (PKCδ) is a member of the protein kinase C (PKC) family of serine-threoninekinases. It is a 79kD protein kinase that shows strict dependence on the presence of phospholipids, but shows no activation by Ca2+ (1). Phosphatidylinositol is the most potent activator of PKCdelta. Northern blot analysis indicated that PKCdelta is widely distributed in almost all the tissues and is a major isoform of PKC expressed in hemopoietic cells (2). PKCdelta is involved in fundamental cellular functions regulated by diacylglycerols and mimicked by phorbol esters.

Specificity:

Recognizes the PKCδ protein

Cross Reactivity:

Western blot human PKCd

PKCd from other species may also be detectable

Host:

Rabbit

Immunogen:

Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 643-647 of human PKCδ

Purification:

Affinity chromatography

Stability:

Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data:

Representative western blot with Anti- PKCδ (1:1000) using 20ng of GST-tagged human recombinant PKCα, PKCβI, PKCβII, PKCγ, PKCδ, PKCε, PKCη, PKCθ, PKCμ, PKCν, PKCζ, and PKCι.
