Overview:
Pre-mRNA-splicing regulator WTAP is a regulatory subunit of the WMM N6-methyltransferase complex that mediates N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation of some adenosine residues of some mRNAs and plays a role in the efficiency of mRNA splicing, processing and mRNA stability. Interacts with methyltransferase like 3 (METTL3) and 14 (METTL14), and is required for their localization into nuclear speckles enriched with pre-mRNA processing factors and for catalytic activity of the m6A methyltransferase.
