Overview:
UBC9 is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family that is involved in ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation system (1). Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes and ubiquitin-protein ligases. UBC9 can function as a co-factor of PLAGL2, uncoupling its enzymatic activity to mediate PLAGL2 interactive SP-C promoter activity (2). UBC9 also plays an important role in the up-regulation of the bone morphogenetic protein signaling pathway.

Specificity:
Recognizes the UBC9 protein
Cross Reactivity:
Western blot UBC9 from human and mouse cells
UBC9 from other species may also be detectable.
Host:
Rabbit
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide of c-terminal amino acid sequence of human UBC9 (P63279)
Purification:
Affinity chromatography
Stability:
Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Sample Data:
Representative western blot with Anti-UBC9 (1:1000) using 3 μg, 10 μg and 30 μg of Jurkat cell lysate.
