Overview:
Microtubule associated serine/threonine kinase 2 (MAST2) belongs to the AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family. MAST2 translocations was identified in invasive breast carcinoma, which occurs during the transition to ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and/or invasive carcinoma. By interacting with Phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN) mediated by its PDZ domain, MAST2 plays a key negative role in regulating survival pathways in neuronal cells. The two proteins interact via the PDZ domain of MAST2.
