Overview:

TRKA is a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor (NTKR) family which is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. TRKA has a crucial role in the development and function of the nociceptive reception system as well as establishment of thermoregulation via sweating in humans (1). The oncogenic rearrangement of 5′TPM3-3′NTRK1 fusion gene has been found in papillary thyroid carcinomas (2).

Gene Aliases:

TPM3: CAPM1; CFTD; hscp30; NEM1; TM-5; TM3; TM30; TM30nm; TM5; TPMsk3; OK/SW-cl.5
TRKA: NTRK1, MTC, TRK, p140-TrkA
