Overview:
PCMT1 is a member of the L-isoaspartyl/D-aspartyl protein methyltransferase family, which plays an important role in protein repair (1). Downregulation of PCMT1 leads to hyperactivation of MAPK pathway upon EGF stimulation (2). PCMT1 is regulated by cell-matrix interactions, and linked to various biological processes including wound healing, cell migration, and tumor metastasis (3).
