Overview:

VAV2 (Vav guanine nucleotide exchange factor 2) is a critical regulator of cell signaling and is involved in various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, migration, and cytoskeletal rearrangements. It plays a significant role in signal transduction pathways, particularly in the activation of Rho family GTPases such as Rac1, Rac2, and RhoA. SH3 domains are approximately 50-70 amino acids in length that are known to mediate protein-protein interactions, often with proline-rich motifs in target proteins. The SH3 domain within VAV2 is essential for mediating interactions with other proteins, enabling the formation of signaling complexes and contributing to the regulation of downstream signaling pathways involved in cell signaling and cytoskeletal dynamics.
