Overview:
TNFAIP3 (Tumor necrosis factor alpha-induced protein 3) is a ubiquitin-editing enzyme that contains both ubiquitin ligase and deubiquitinase activities. The enzyme plays a role in immune and inflammatory responses of cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-1 beta, or pathogens via Toll-like receptors (TLRs) through inhibiting NFkB activity (1). TNFAIP3 has been found to be associated with rheumatoid arthritis (2).
