Overview:
Several WD40-repeat (WDR) proteins interact with and regulate the activity of USPs. A subfamily of USPs constituting of USP1, USP12, and USP46 share a common WDR partner WDR48/ UAF1 that stimulates the activity of these USPs (1). USP1/WDR48 complex controls the cellular levels of monoubiquitinated FANCD2 DNA repair, a regulation pivotal for an intact Fanconi anemia pathway (2). WDR48 in complex with USP12 suppresses proliferation of tumor by enhancing stability of PHLPP1 (3).
