Overview:
STK21 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that functions in cell division and also to promote efficient cytokinesis. STK21 is a novel molecular mechanism for a subset of human malformation syndromes of the central nervous system (1). STK21 is also associated with bipolar disorder and risk for schizophrenia. STK21 is a novel partner for the GTP-bound forms of rho and rac (2).
